It’s summertime and the living is easy!

I love summer and always look forward to the backyard BBQ’s, late night s’mores, watching the kids run around in the sprinkler (and occasionally joining them) and all the time I get to spend with my neighbors, friends and family.

During this time of the year, the hubby likes to pull out the ‘ole grill in a bid to proudly display his exceptional barbecue skills.

Most summer weekends our neighbors show up to the house with their kids in tow (a time my kids always look forward to) and they come armed with some delicious dishes that have everyone begging for the recipe by the end of the day.

Unfortunately, the fare is not always as healthy as we might like.

Once in a while, that’s fine, but with these frequent hangouts, it gets to be a little too much. Some of you who regularly host or have attended a couple of cookouts or even picnics know what I’m talking about.

Let’s face it, along with the fun times there’s all the sugary store-bought barbecue sauce, unhealthy pies and sugar-laden drinks to contend with during the summer.

Fortunately, this doesn’t have to be the case- there are clean eating versions of your favorite meals- without the sugar, chemicals or guilt.

Below is a list of 19 clean eating but great tasting cookout recipes to make this summer one to remember.
