There are numerous reasons to eat clean and healthy meals; personally, I found that not only did it keep the costs of groceries down but home cooked meals always taste better than store-bought soups but I always able to cut unnecessary amounts of sugar from our diet that were hiding in the forms of preservatives and flavorings.
I decided to go with chicken as the key ingredient in this post because not only is it more affordable but it’s also a good source of lean protein and it’s quite versatile. You can practically do anything to it, boil it, broil it, sauté it, mash it, stuff it, grill it… there are so many great ways to prepare chicken that your friends and family would enjoy.
That being said, I have rounded up some amazing clean eating chicken recipes that will make your break-up with packaged and processed foods a lot less stressful. I look forward to reading your feedback in the comment section so don’t be shy with your thoughts and opinions.

Teriyaki Chicken
The perfect compliment to this dish would be a tasty home-made sauce; as long as you’re eating clean you might as well go all the way right? It’s a healthy dinner idea you don’t want to miss out on.
Roasted Chicken Stuffed Under The Skin
You’ve got to love this dish, the idea of stuffing under the skin adds a certain depth of flavor to it; you’ve got the tanginess of lemons, the strong spiciness of the garlic and all the other herbs and spices coming together to give you a healthy nutritious meal.
Honey Mustard Chicken Thighs
This golden delicacy is just as nutritious as it looks; you’ve got the skinless chicken, unsalted almonds, red and green bell peppers, fresh parsley and of course, little to no oil. It doesn’t get any cleaner than this.
Chicken Salad
The chicken salad is quite low in calories but very rich in protein, but of course, you knew that because the focus of this dish is the chicken. But guess what, Guess what, in addition to the chicken, the recipe also calls for a generous amount of Greek yogurt…Yum!
Pineapple Chicken Kebabs with Cilantro-Lime Slaw
Whether you choose to make the pineapple chicken kebabs on the grill or under the broiler, I promise you one thing; it will come out tasting and looking great. The coolness and tanginess of the cilantro-lime slaw also balances the chicken quite nicely.
Kale, Apple, and Almond Chicken Salad
This salad might just be what the doctor ordered for you; it’s rich in fiber, calcium and Vitamin A. It’s got lots of flavonoids and carotenoids and a healthy amount of proteins. You should also know that Kale is a great detoxifier as well.
Roasted chicken with Jerusalem artichoke & lemon
This is quite an easy recipe and anyone can put this together in about 60 minutes tops. The secret to getting the golden brown color on the chicken without burning it is to cook it on very low heat over time.
Clean Eating Chicken Kebobs
This looks really good, I couldn’t resist adding it to the roundup plus the chicken used is skinless so you have a lot less fat content in this recipe.
Garlic Margherita Chicken & Zucchini
What first got my attention about this dish was the burst of colors! It makes you just want to grab it off the screen right? But in addition to it being full of flavors, it’s also got the right amount of vegetables and herbs, making this one of the cleanest and healthiest recipes out there.
Curried Chicken Salad Stuffed Avocados
There are quite a number of stuffed avocado recipes out there, but I particularly loved this recipe because it had an Indian twist on it with the curried chicken salad, which I thought was quite brilliant.
Citrus-Marinated Roasted Chicken
This dish is certainly drool-worthy; it’s always a pleasant experience combining citrus and chicken. You should really try this out.
Almond Crusted Chicken with Maple Dijon Sauce (Gluten-Free)
This dish is flavorful, gluten free, low carb, paleo friendly and has a total cook time of just 40 minutes. You have to try this recipe and let me know how it turns out.
Citrus Chicken Sorrento
Yet another citrus and chicken recipe but you really can’t blame me; when those two come together, magic happens. This Italian-inspired recipe but here’s what’s different about this recipe, instead of bringing the citrus into the marinade, it’s incorporated into the glaze. If you do try out both recipes, please let me know how much difference that made in the overall taste.
…and as always, I’m eager to hear your feedback on any of the recipes you’ve tried out.
