Zucchini Boats and No Power

Our power has been going out a lot lately. I think having both burners on on the hot plate, the electrical heater plugged in and on, and the computer plugged in might not be helping matters. The problem is, the power to our upstairs studio apartment is tied to the larger, downstairs apartment. When the power goes out, it goes out in both units and the breaker is in the downstairs apartments kitchen. So we are entirely dependent on our downstairs neighbors to flip the breaker. Pear Banana Soft Serve and Two Sore Throats

I am probably really late on this one, I think that it is pretty well known by now that tossing a frozen banana into a food processor or vitamix, if you are lucky enough to have one of those, makes a creamy, no added sugar ice cream. Split Pea Empanadas and the Food of Buenos Aires

We have had some really incredible meals here in Buenos Aires. Tons of grilled meats of questionable age and refrigeration status piled onto crusty bread and topped with a salsa of onions, tomatoes and vinegar and house-made chimichurri sauce. These are the ultimate in street food and we look forward to these almost as much as we look forward to the street fairs where they can always be found! There is a Venezuelan restaurant […] Continue Reading
